Hi, I’m Claire, and I believe in the power of kindness — toward yourself, and the parts of you that might feel messy, overwhelming, or hard to talk about.
I know how painful it can be to feel overwhelmed by shame or to wonder if something about you is too much or not enough. What’s helped me — again and again — is coming back to humanness, compassion, and connection. That’s what I want to help you find, too.
I’ve been where you are — both as a therapist and as a client. I don’t flinch at the parts you think are “bad,” “crazy,” or “messed up.” Instead, I’ll do my best to truly see and understand you, and stay with you in whatever you’re going through.
My role isn’t to label or fix you — it’s to hold space for us to slow down and explore what’s happening beneath the surface. When you feel safe enough to be yourself with another human who isn’t judging you, healing happens.
My Approach to Therapy
I’m a person-centered therapist who draws from psychodynamic, existential, and relational theories. I’m deeply influenced by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and take a process-focused, intuitive approach. I’m LGBTQIA+ affirming and strive to hold a lens that’s mindful of systemic and social justice dynamics.
What This Looks Like in Practice…
I believe the most important part of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. When that space feels safe, genuine, and nonjudgmental, it’s a powerful foundation for healing. [person-centered, relational]
I trust that exploring what’s beneath the surface — your past, unconscious patterns, emotional pain, and protective parts — can create space for insight, change, and deepened self-compassion. When that exploration is witnessed by someone attuned and present, shame softens, and you start to see yourself more clearly. [psychodynamic, relational, IFS]
I believe that healing happens not through fixing, but through feeling, being heard, and choosing how you want to respond to life — rather than just reacting to it. [existential]
I don’t see you as crazy, broken, or in need of fixing. I see symptoms as manifestations of pain you’ve been carrying for a long time. When people feel safe enough to tell their story and be truly heard, shame and pain lessen, and symptoms naturally settle. [IFS]
In session, I take an organic, responsive approach. Sometimes we start where we left off. Other times, we follow a seemingly random thought or feeling. Usually those seemingly small moments lead us somewhere meaningful. [psychodynamic, relational, process-focused]
And while therapy doesn’t have to focus on politics or systems, I’m aware that culture, identity, and oppression shape how we move through the world. I aim to hold that awareness with humility and care. [social justice-oriented]
